Journey with our community to refine techniques and deepen understanding through our Chinese Calligraphy lessons.

What You’ll Experience in the Regular Calligraphy Practice Class
PATH OF THE BRUSH
Learning Together, at Your Own Pace
At the heart of our Regular Calligraphy Class is the joy of learning and belonging. You’ll be part of a warm, encouraging community where students exchange ideas, share inspiration, and celebrate one another’s progress. The classes are designed to give you continuity and steady growth, while still offering flexibility—if you ever miss a session, make-up classes are available so you can learn without pressure.
Learning from the Masters
Deepen your appreciation of calligraphy by exploring the lives and works of legendary masters. Through stories and examples, you’ll see how different styles evolved, and how each calligrapher expressed spirit and personality through brush and ink. These insights provide both inspiration and guidance for your own practice.
Refining Your Technique
Move beyond the basics as you polish your brushwork, improve stroke variation, and master the balance of proportion and spacing. In our unique approach, students begin by writing complete poems and phrases. Through the act of creating whole works, you also strengthen the essentials of calligraphy—stroke control, character structure, and harmonious layout—much like a musician refining technique through playing full compositions.
Explorin Different Styles
Once you’re comfortable with the regular script, you’ll have the chance to experiment with semi-cursive and cursive styles. These flowing forms allow your writing to become more expressive and lively, giving you the freedom to add personality and rhythm to your pieces.
Progressing from Blessings to Poetry
Build on short blessings such as 吉祥 (good fortune), 平安 (peace), and 喜乐 (joy), then progress to elegant four-character idioms and carefully curated classical poems. Each piece is chosen for both its cultural richness and literary rhythm, so you experience calligraphy not only as a visual art but as a living expression of meaning and beauty.
Showcase Your Talent
Bring everything together by creating a finished piece on premium rice paper. You’ll learn to plan your layout, consider the flow of characters, and embellish your work with traditional Chinese seals. The result is an artwork that reflects not only technical skill but also your personal style—worthy of framing, gifting, or even exhibiting.
